Kalma Saun
Booked an hour at this place and overall it was ok. The small room didn’t have a hot tub or anything and the sauna was extremely small. Because of that the heater was a bit too intense to enjoy.I am not sure of the other rooms. I would return again to try a different room as this place was pretty authentic

This was RAW! Don't get me wrong, I loved the experience and I had an idea what's waiting for me. So...first of all, if you are looking for a contemporary sauna experience in line with all the cozy modern flings flings from western Europe, all with the music, ambient lighting, all those bells and whistles, just pick something else. This sauna built in 1928 got stuck in time somewhat 50 years ago. Men & women are separated right at the reception. I was using the public part, you can also reserve a private sauna. First of all, the bare minimum what you need are flip-flops. They rent towels, hats and sit-on mats. Cards are accepted. Men public area only has a steam sauna which is yeah....bit dated and not THAT steamy. The real gem here is the traditional dry sauna with 2,5m tall fire burning stove. You sit on five stages and visitors are mostly locals and russians. Now, if you are new to the sauna experience, this one is VERY hot. You'd need to cool down in a pool and a shower every few minutes. Everyone is slashing themselves with birch whisks. At the beginning that was odd, but as soon as I tried it I loved it instantly. The rest of the area is quite dated too, but the place has undoubtedly a strong genius loci, which real sauna connoisseurs will adore. Locals sipping beverages at the bar watching old telly, discussing everything imaginable... of couse everyone is naked everywhere. Well it wasn't 5star experience, but it's also not what I was looking for. If you overcome the initial cultural shock, you will have a great time!

Kalma saun sai 97 aastaseks! Ja mina olen seal käinud juba 44 aastat. Väga tore koht! Soovitan kõigile.

Super sweet and “old school” sauna! Booked a private sauna for 20€ / h and enjoyed the time there a lot. It is very clean, stuff is friendly and I am grateful for this traditional experience!

Me and my boyfriend are going to the private sauna for 2 every second week and we love it. With the time we understood what we need to take with ourselves and now it is very convinient.

Great local sauna experience. The place is quite simple, as you’d expect from an old school sauna. There is one room with a steam bath and one with a sauna. Lockers and showers are available and there is a cold bath next to the sauna.Price (normal adult) during the week 15€ entrance and 18€ on weekends (Friday included).

My Grandfather loved the place. He lived in Vana Kalamaja 33 and visited the saun mostly twice a week and always came back in a very good mood. This was between 1928 and 1939, until the family emigrated.

Great place to experience an Estonian Sauna. Don't expect anything fancy...just a cool and humble experience! A little bit confusing at first but just follow others' lead and it's a lot of fun and a memorable time. Only downside is that it gets quite crowded in the Sauna but people won't be able to last long due to the heat so spots will inevitably open up!

It was a great moment, to repeat !Public sauna of Tallinn. Men and women separated.Take your sleepers with you, no bath suite. You pay (can rent a towel) and go to men section. You got their your locker key. No individual changing room, you will be naked all time. There is large showers room linked to a steam/hammam.After you can visit the normal hot sauna in a 2nd room with showers and cold water pool.Mainly visited by locals but the responsible in men section speaks a bit English and can explain.Must be tried at least !

Advice for tourist!!!Price (18€ each person) is too high for a service like that. They don’t provide any towel or flip flop and neither soap in the showers. Furthermore, the place is pretty old and that’s fine because it stands since almost one century, but this is not a justification to keep the place dirty. It was pretty disgusting!Better to spend your money somewhere else… trust me!
